There are many different options and modes of transportation used to ship your belongings across the globe. These options are tailored to meet the individual needs and budgets of our customers and are detailed below.

Shipping by sea freight is the most common and cost effective method of international transportation. Worldwide Move Management offers the following sea freight services, which are generally selected based on the volume of the shipment and / or the transit time required to meet our customers' requirements.

A full container service, also known as an exclusive use service, is normally used when a customer chooses to ship all, or the majority, of their household goods and personal effects from their home. There are two main sizes of standard shipping containers.

Thank you for getting in touch. We will get back to you soon.

A twenty foot (six meter) container and a forty foot (twelve meter) container. The size of the container is determined by the volume of the shipment and as stated above, the container is for the customer’s exclusive use.

Our experienced crew will export pack your belongings in your home over a specified time, normally one to three days and the empty container will arrive at your home for loading at the end of the packing operation. Your packed shipment (and car, if required) will then be carefully and expertly loaded into the container, a bulkhead to secure your shipment will be built within the container and then the container will be bolt sealed. The container will then be transported to the nearest seaport of departure, via a local terminal.

Upon arrival at the port of entry in the country you are moving to, our partner will pick up the container from the port terminal, customs clear your shipment and then arrange for delivery to your new home. At the time of delivery, the container will be unloaded, your belongings placed in your home, unpacked and set up, as directed. Finally, all waste materials will be removed for recycling.

A part load container service, also known as a shared container service, is offered to customers who do not want to pack and ship a full household of their belongings. For example, customers who want to pack and ship their personal effects only and/or selected furniture and larger items, generally with a volume up to about half the capacity of a twenty foot container, will be better suited to a part load container service.

A part load container service ensures that the safe movement and security of containerized shipping is maintained, while the customer benefits greatly because they are only paying for the space in the container that is required to accommodate their shipment. The financial savings can be substantial.

The main difference between a full and part load service is that when your part load shipment has been packed at residence, it is transported back to our local warehouse for consolidation into a shipping container. Once loaded, the container will be forwarded overseas to the port of entry, where our partner will pick up the container, transfer it back to their local warehouse for deconsolidation and customs clearance. Your shipment will then be delivered to your new residence in a truck before the crew unpack and set up your belongings in your home, as directed. Finally, all waste materials will be removed for recycling.

An LCL service (LCL is an abbreviation for Less than a Container Load) is generally used for moving to destinations where a part load service is not offered due to less demand. Subsequently, a part load service is not cost effective because not enough volume is available to fill up consolidated containers. An LCL service may also be used when a more time sensitive door to door service is required by the customer.

As with the part load service, your belongings will be export packed at your residence and then transported back to our local warehouse. Your shipment will the be over packed into an industry standard size wooden case or crate, or a custom sized wooden case or crate will be built. From our warehouse, the case(s) or crate(s) will be delivered to a local consolidation terminal, loaded into a container and shipped through the port of entry. Again, as with the part load container service, at the destination, your case(s) or crate(s) will be picked up from the local terminal by our partner, transferred back to their local warehouse for deconsolidation and customs clearance. Our partner will then deliver your shipment to your new residence in a truck, before they unpack and set up your belongings in your home, as directed. Finally, all waste materials will be removed for recycling.

There are several reasons why customers choose air freight service. One of the main reasons is, quite simply, because the transit time for an air freight shipment is generally much faster than the transit time achievable by using a sea freight shipping service. An air freight service can cut the transit time from weeks down to days.

An air freight service is also used as a supplementary service by customers who are shipping the bulk of their belongings by sea freight, generally in a full container.

Essential items required to set up a new home or for work before their main shipment arrives, are often packed up at the same time, or before, the main shipment and forwarded by air.

The same export packing and overpacking, as described in the LCL section, is carried out before the shipment is delivered to the airport.

Finally, if a shipment is very small, it can sometimes be more economical to send via air freight, as opposed to sea freight.

As with the other freight options, upon arrival at the airport of entry at the destination, your shipment will be picked up from the local terminal by our partner, transferred back to their local warehouse for deconsolidation and customs clearance. Our partner will then deliver your shipment to your new residence in a truck before they unpack your belongings if required, and then remove all waste materials for recycling.
